Yukon Territory

Continuing the drive through Canada on Friday, the 21st...

More wildlife :)

This guy got scared when we honked the horn...only brown bear we saw.

These are all different black bears that we saw a few miles within each other...Raymon was getting sick of stopping to take pictures of bears!!

Welcome to the Yukon Territory!!

Saw a lot of abandoned towns and buildings...

This was a really cool mountain, looks more like a giant hill!

Most of the way the Alaskan highway was paved and both sides of the road were mowed and well kept...a few times though it was just a dirt road with potholes :)

910 more miles to Fairbanks!

More logging facilities...

You can kind of see a wolf in the left hand corner of the pick-up window.

Canada!

After staying at the bed and breakfast for 2 nights we headed for Canada on Wednesday morning. Lucked out at the border and made it through in 15 minutes! These pictures are from 5/19 and 5/20.

Welcome to Alberta!
This is the only picture of Calgary, AB that I got. You can see the buildings skyline in the fog.

The bridge is the crossing for the wildlife. Was rainy, snowy, and foggy all day on Thursday, the 20th.

The first black bear we saw...Raymon was going to fast to stop so took a fly-by picture :)
Waterfall at one of the pull-offs we stopped at, thought it was an appropriate name for our honeymoon drive!
LLLOOONNNGGGG open roads!

We were driving across a bridge and Raymon saw these elk trying to cross it.

Another pull-off spot :)

In the velvet...

Lots of lumber yards, they were cool to see.

Welcome to British Columbia!!

The only picture of the Alaska Highway sign that I got, came up on us too fast :(

You can kind-of see the moose running off the road through the ditch~

Funny story about this bear...We were driving along and I told Raymon to turn around cuz I was almost positive there was a bear laying back there! So he reluctantly turned the truck around in the middle of the road and when we get back to the spot this black bear is laying there dead with a TRUST JESUS sign nailed to the tree right beside him...the rest of the trip he teased me for making him turn around so I could take a picture of a dead bear!
