Made it to Alaska!

On Saturday, the 22nd we finished the drive thru Canada and made it to Fairbanks, AK. The road was pretty bumpy between Haines Junction and the Alaskan/Canadian Border. The drive was fun but we were pretty excited to be at our final destination...for a little while anyway!
This lake was really cool cuz since it was so calm the reflections in it were awesome!

My good-looking guy :)

And a good-looking truck that took us the whole way :)

The road between Haines Junction and the Alaska border was quite a rough one from all the permafrost.

Welcome to Alaska!!!

So happy to be back on US soil, wasn't too fond of Canada! (Sorry Lisa!) ;)

Yes, Alaska is GORGEOUS!!!

Some places are still frozen!

Excited we are getting so close!

Another moose :)
Raymon wanted a picture to show they bale hay up here too! Not in very many places tho.

We made it!!! 3639 miles, 60 hours, and 45 minutes later!

Welcome to Fairbanks!!

  1. dear Thousands of Miles later,

I have been watching for this post!
Absolutely beautiful photos...yep....it truely is a one of a kind place with a beauty all it's own. It is partly the vast and untamed, wilderness that gets you isn't it?
(I KNOW the parents are probably saying:"But don't get TOO ATTACHED" right?)
We did not get that far North, so you saw way more of the Interior than we ever did.
Some friends in IN just did an Inside Passage cruise recently. She has some nice pix on her blog too. Kinda fun, as it has been years since we have known or heard of anyone going up there, and now 2 sets in the same Summer!

Hope you are having fun, You sure look cute together.
